Crushed gum rosin

Gum rosin is produced by the removal of volatiles from the resin of various pine species; the distillate is turpentine and the residue gum rosin. Gum Rosin is an ingredient in printing inks, photocopying and laser printing paper, varnishes, adhesives (glues), soap, paper sizing, soda, soldering fluxes, and sealing wax. A related glycerol ester (E445) can be used as an emulsifier in soft drinks. Gum rosin is also used as a flux in soldering.
